Bio
Nick Psinakis is an independent filmmaker originally from Long Island, NY. After graduating from The University of Delaware, Nick attended the conservatory acting program at the William Esper Studio in New York City where he studied the highly recognized work of Sanford Meisner and studied under Bill Esper. Notable alumni include Sam Rockwell, Kathy Bates, Larry David, Amy Schumer, Jeff Goldblum and Timothy Olyphant.
Along with his business partner, Kevin Ignatius, he created Four Eighteen Films, a production company committed to conceptualizing and developing low-cost, high quality, independently produced films. Four Eighteen stems from the birthday they both share, April 18th.
Nick and Kevin spent their early years in New York City before eventually moving to Los Angeles where they honed their craft and cut their teeth making short films, music videos and sketches for FunnyOrDie. Other notable projects include the short films titled “J” and “Hookman”. “Hook Man” starred Haneefah Wood (Truth Be Told Apple TV +) and won eight different awards while “J” had its World Premiere at the Omaha Film Festival sharing a film block alongside shorts that starred Kristen Wiig and Oscar Issac most notably. Four Eighteen Films' feature film debut was the indie comedy, titled “My Best Friend's Famous”. The film is directed and scored by Ignatius and stars Psinakis alongside Oscar Nominee Ryan O’Neal (Love Story, Barry Lyndon) and two time Emmy Nominee Mindy Sterling (The Goldbergs, Austin Powers). The movie premiered on Amazon Prime in September 2019.
Their latest film, titled “Cheat”, had its World Premiere during the opening night at Frightfest 2023 in the UK. The film was praised for its cinematography, original score as well as visual scope given the modest budget. Eye For Film complimented how it “chips away at viewers’ confidence in how events will unfold” as well as ”the directors’ willingness to break with the stylistic codes of the genre” calling it “a much more mature thriller”.
Valley View Motel, their most recent feature film, is currently in post-production and slated for a 2026 release.
